Ineffable Ontological Detanglement .: Introspective Assistance & Mental Analysis Manual
If any aspect of the world as you understand it contradicts itself, then the world you live in is false. It doesn't matter if you don't think of yourself as being a person who is here to do the thinkin', you're walking around in day to day life within a world that is false. You're just here to interact and talk and stuff whatever, well, what you're speaking is a world that is false. It's not that important, well, then, what are we even doing? Why do we even speak? To hear our vocal cords moving.
When choosing not to care too terribly much about a cognitive dissonance, you're likely overlooking the long string of because. Because I know this to be true I can say that I know this to be true and because I know that to be true I can say that I know this to be true. What if you have more than one base cognitive dissonance? Now you have two long strings of becauses flowering off the base of cognitive dissonance. What if they cross? What if they start confirming each other and forming opinions based entirely in two to four opposing thoughts? So many of the priors within your error correction are based in criss crossing nonsense, you may end up accidentally predicting a flower pot cat banana. With a lack of perceptual filter bypass you're blurring all of reality, the whole damn thing is going down with you. Do enough cognitive dissonance work and the brain fog you have created for yourself will make it all the more easy to keep going and going.
You hold so many beliefs, some of them are going to contradict each other... Well, then, you're not really practicing any thought when you pick up beliefs, are you? You're not picking up a belief because it fit within a core belief system you just heard a bunch of words that sound reasonable or sound like something you want to be able to believe. Or speak, so you can sound as impressive as the person who gave it to you. A new concept comes at you, whether or not you're giving it any conscious consideration error correction if running properly is supposed to give you some form of mental warning that you may not get to believe this thing. The base of information floating around your subconscious is SUPPOSED to give you some sort of clue before you decide you can just blindly believe it.
People can excuse cognitive dissonance by saying people generally don't reason very well anyway and in the moment of figuring something out usually they can resolve it. Yes, possibly, unlikely but possibly, buuut... Why does that mean you would just leave the cognitive dissonance sitting in there forming your opinions? I bet you'd meet these moments of getting the opportunity to resolve it a lot better if you didn't have any cognitive dissonance. Some say it's harmless and normal to be inconsistent, people tolerate it, I don't like you I think you people are destroying the world. It's just some artifact of early psychology, now you need to fucking look at yourself, you're looking at the concept of holding opposing beliefs and you want to keep both of them so bad that you say "tum guy tought it up in a lab." That one is an incredibly severe we don't live in the one that is real we live in the super fun land of pretend thinks and I get to do whatever I want so long as I keep the thinks properly labeled.
