You've formed a theory, likely an oversimplified block think label based in perceptual filtering looking at the world AS, such as people are hostile or authority figures lie, I am friendly I am intelligent, of course perceptual filter bypass people are not immune to self confirmation. There was likely a sampling bias or emotional salience interfering with the formation of your theory.
Your analysis of the world before you is now biased, semi-consciously you're only ever working to confirm your theory. All you need is the evidence for, you won't be requiring the evidence against. If you need to go all the way to assigning meaning to get the research to fit in place you'll do what you need to do. To the world, you behave as though you are defending your theory hoping to draw more confirmatory data, you've locked it subconsciously, it can be very subtle, a lot of you lack of perceptual filter bypass people are semi-consciously working to confirm five to six theories at once and even the most attentive of observer couldn't see all of them, some of them can be seen by all but yourself.
It's not just the world of interaction that you're doing this to, you're doing this to the world of all concepts. Things are crossing subconsciously and being worked through semi-consciously, confirming each other. You confirm things by only ever exploring concepts within the accepted range of these concepts, knowing just how to filter the world of concepts that begin to drift from these concepts and which concepts cannot be filtered and so they must be denied, where you're supposed to look and who you're supposed to listen to.
Eventually you have enough data. Now so many of your error correction priors are loaded full of self confirmation, there you go, you get whatever you want. You're locked in, you're always confirming your self confirmation, building more self confirmation, reinforcing your self confirmation with more self confirmation. A lot of you lack of perceptual filter bypass people are so far gone within this that you have entered another world, you get to assign meaning to whatever you want, you're free from the constraints of reality. It's just normal, this is just the way the world works and I'm just as comfortable about it as everybody else is, everybody else who obviously understands this is just the way the world works and it's just normal it's just comfortable nobody needs to question it because there's nothing to question it's just normal it's just the nature of reality.
